Waterfalls & Lost River Caverns

Five natural wonders in one day: the ringing boulders of Ringing Rocks, an underground river at Lost River Caverns, and three Pocono waterfalls, including the tallest in Pennsylvania.

This is the sampler trip for people who can’t pick just one place. We start at Ringing Rocks, a field of boulders that ring like bells when you tap them with a hammer (yes, we bring a hammer). Then we go underground at Lost River Caverns, a cave with an underground stream and stalactites, on a guided tour of about 40 minutes.

Next we head north into the Poconos: a quick stop at Raymondskill Falls, the tallest waterfall in the state, a boardwalk stroll to Dingmans Falls, and finally Bushkill Falls, the main stop of the day, with a chain of waterfalls, footbridges, and lots of stairs. We adjust the lineup to opening hours and the group’s pace, so if we linger somewhere, one stop may get skipped.

The walks are short but frequent: about 3.5 miles in total, plus the Bushkill stairs. It suits almost everyone, including people just getting into the outdoors. Before every stop we name a time to be back at the car, and it really matters if we want to make the last waterfall.
