Our fall flash mob: we carve pumpkin heads, put them on, and walk through Center City from City Hall to Rittenhouse Square, filming the double-takes along the way.

The least serious trip in the club, and one of the most memorable. Everyone carves a pumpkin head, and the whole gang heads into Center City: a group photo at City Hall, a walk down Walnut Street to Rittenhouse Square, short videos, and the faces of passersby who definitely did not expect this. We first did it in October 2026; the next one will be announced closer to Halloween.

There are two ways to join. In the morning, come to the carving session at my place: tea, coffee, sandwiches, carving faces together and helping each other (I send the address personally after you sign up). Or come straight to the meetup point downtown in the afternoon with your pumpkin ready. Tip from experience: buy the pumpkin ahead of time, cut off the bottom and scoop it out the day before, and let it dry. Carving eyes and a mouth takes longer than you think, so a simple idea is the best idea.

There’s not much walking, a mile or two through downtown at an easy pace. No formation, no script: we just try to reach the last stop together, then some go for coffee and some keep wandering. Kids are welcome if they can keep up with the group on their own. The price is symbolic, just enough to stop seats from going to waste on last-minute cancellations. And tag your photos #RamanTravelClub so we can find everyone later.
